Every tour has an origin story. Ours begins Thanksgiving weekend 2026 — full stomachs, cold air, and handicaps nobody believes.

The Inaugural Event: The Sandbagger Thanksgiving Invitational

The first official event of The Sandbaggers Tour™ tees off Thanksgiving weekend 2026. The field: friends and founding members. The format: handicap-based stroke play, where every stroke you claim earns you a stroke you probably don't deserve. The vibe: less country club, more "settle it on the course."

Eighteen holes. Adjusted scoring. Mandatory trash talk. Cameras rolling. The scorecards will be reviewed. The excuses will not hold up.

The Season Ahead

The Invitational is the first tee shot, not the whole round. We're building The Sandbaggers Tour into a full season of handicap-based golf events — a spring opener, summer tour stops, and a year-end championship where the most convincing "recreational player" takes the crown. More events, bigger fields, and a leaderboard that tracks who's really been practicing.

Every Sandbaggers Tour event will be filmed and published on our YouTube channel — full event recaps, highlight reels, and short-form clips of the most statistically improbable moments in amateur golf. Tour news, event announcements, results, and recaps will live right here at thesandbaggerstour.com. Consider this page your clubhouse.

Tour Rules (Official-ish)

  1. All handicaps are accepted at face value. No handicap has ever survived contact with the first tee.
  2. "I haven't played in months" must be declared before the round. Declarations made after your third birdie will be entered into evidence.
  3. Practice rounds must be disclosed. Especially the secret ones.
  4. One mulligan per round. Saving it for the 18th to win isn't against the rules — it's the whole point.
  5. Trash talk is mandatory and will be scored.
  6. The most suspicious scorecard of the day earns the title of Tournament Sandbagger and a permanent place in tour history.
  7. All disputes are settled by the Commissioner. The Commissioner is whoever brought the official tour shot glasses.
  8. Tour merch is not required to compete. It is, however, statistically correlated with "lucky" rounds.
